Mailbox model
Each external organization gets its own IMPORT/EXPORT mailbox through which orders and results flow.
Structured messages
Checksummed XML messages cover orders, structured results, print-ready PDF reports, and service catalogs.
Configurable identification
Each system can use its own key field — internal ID, personal code or medical record number — avoiding data collisions between multiple referrers.
Automatic record creation
The system can automatically create or update organization and service lists as they change.
Transport-agnostic
Messages can travel over file shares, secure connections or other transport — the message format itself stays the same.
Many referrers at once
One laboratory can serve many external sources in parallel, each with its own configuration.
What it's for
Medap-Gateway is the infrastructure that lets referring doctors, subcontracted laboratories and hospital systems exchange orders and results with Medap-LIS® electronically, without manual data entry on either side. It's also what Medap-C workstations in referring clinics use to submit orders and receive reports.
